Newcastle United headed into the Premier League season in an uncertain position due to Rafael Benitez’s unhappiness with the club’s transfer activity.
On the pitch, though, the Magpies are coping with the demands of the top flight having won three, drawn one and lost three so far.
As it stands, the club reside ninth in the table and they can enter the international break in a positive mood following Sunday’s result.
Newcastle secured a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at St James’ Park, with Joselu cancelling out Philippe Coutinho’s first-half strike.
The focus centred on the Reds’ defensive problems, as they gifted the goal to Joselu when Joel Matip’s attempted clearance ended with the ball bouncing off his opponent’s shin and past goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Despite the nature of the goal, the North-East outfit reached the full-time whistle the happier of the two sides.
On Sunday evening, while reflecting on the game, Isaac Hayden, who came on as a substitute in the final 16 minutes of the match, tweeted his thoughts.
