Everton manager David Moyes says he has been forced to play Beckford more than he would have liked this season, but the former Leeds striker has failed to adjust to the rigours of Premier League football.
Beckford has started three times, and come off the bench in three other league games for Everton without making many headlines ... apart from that dodgy tackle on the Newcastle goalkeeper.
Moyes: "What I wanted was him coming off the bench but I ended up starting with him early on.
"People are saying he is not settling in but Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka both took a year to settle.
"One thing is certain - he is definitely a goalscorer."
