"I don’t think but to the players credit I think in the second-half they gave it a good shot to get back into it and get the early goal.
“We were caught badly on the counter-attack in the first-half with two of the goals very, very badly.
"Left ourselves open and lost the ball in areas where we had no need or no reason to lose it but to be fair to Newcastle they were quick to break and profit by it.’’
“At one stage we had a bit of momentum but that soon disappeared when [James] Morrison went off the field injured, going down to ten men as we had used all our subs."
