New boss has to isolate
New Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe will not be in the dug out for his first game in charge of the Toon due to Covid-19. The head coach has recently tested positive for the virus and so will have to self-isolate as his team takes to the field for the first time under his stewardship, against Brentford at St James’ Park on Saturday.
Thankfully, as per the official club website, Howe confirmed that he is feeling well and although unwanted, the virus has not caused major disruption in terms of the planning for Saturday’s game.
Assistant head coaches Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead the team from the dugout on Saturday and will be in communication with Howe.
