Hughton 'Backing From Players'?

Chris Hughton, who has received the backing of several players following a positive start to the campaign, has insisted he is happy to remain in charge for as long as his services are required.

Are these the same players who have said all summer they want Alan Shearer as boss?

Houghton said after the 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in midweek: "Nothing has changed, if the club is sold at any stage, then possibly I might get a knock on the door and be told that things will change.

"I have very much enjoyed the challenge so far and I am very happy to continue until told otherwise.

"I am very hopeful that the players we have here at the moment will remain at the club."

Someone should tell him (because obviously Ashley doesn't have his phone number) that the Toon owner is set to sell THREE players.
