Boyd seemed bound for Birmingham City but Kayserispor coach Shota Arveladze is hoping his personal approach can lure Boyd to Turkey.
Arveladze, himself a former Ibrox player, rang Boyd last week and hopes to get him to Turkey for a meeting.
Arveladze: “I have had conversations with Kris and we will talk some more.
“I am hopeful he will decide to come here, but I know he has other options. I want him to join me. I have made this a priority and hope the personal touch I have added to the move will work in my favour.
“Some coaches prefer to let the club president do the talking, but I think the coach should always speak to the player and outline plans.”
Hughton has since considered a move for the Rangers striker ... but add to the confusion ... while Boyd wants his future sorting soon, Hughton is away on holiday.
