But the Birmingham City boss is happy for his side to enjoy their "magical" European adventure but insists their priority will always be the npower Championship.
Hughton's Blues are experiencing contrasting fortunes at home and abroad, sitting 19th in the domestic second tier but on a high after a thrilling 2-1 win away to NK Maribor in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Chris Hughton: "We've seen ourselves here how magical it can be and it's been our first experience of it.
"It's great for the fans too because as always they gave us great support, which we've come to expect from them. It was wonderful to see and it's wonderful that we could give them something to cheer.
"We have got a lot of players not used to playing in Europe and it's a really good experience for them.
"But of course it's still our priority to do well in the Championship."
"Overall I thought it was a good game.
"We showed great character and team spirit and in the end I thought we were worthy winners."
