SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY are set to embark on their latest search for a new managerial face in the dug out shortly with Steve Bruce bound for the Premier League with Newcastle United.
The list of candidates to replace Bruce will be a substantial one. But former Toon boss Chris Hughton heads the list.
He is the name on many Sheffield Wednesday supporters' lips and it is easy to see why.
He boasts a vast amount of experience and is perfectly capable of successfully handling a dressing room which is abundant with senior players.
Two promotions to the top-flight on his managerial CV and would represent a sensible and smart appointment to many at a time when the Owls do not need revolution. A very strong and sound candidate.
So much so, he would have been well ahead of Bruce if Newcastle fans were allowed to pick Rafa's replacement.
