Chris Hughton: “It was the just the way the game goes. Even in that formation we had opportunities.
“We can say we play 4-5-1, but with Kevin Nolan off the front, we see him very much as a forward player who has been good in front of goal for us.
“I don’t think it was about formations. We created eight very good chances and we just won’t able to put them away.
“It was very frustrating. It wasn’t perhaps one of our better performances but we created equally as many chances as we did against Aston Villa but we weren’t able to put them away.
“I think we just came up against an inspired goalkeeper.
“It was my first home defeat and it’s not a nice feeling.
“It was a game that we came into wanting to get three points from. I think you have to give them credit – they came with a gameplan and system, playing on the break and that style of play allowed them to score when they did.
“I was very confident we would come up in the second half, up the tempo and continue to create chances.
“In a performance that wasn’t one of our better performances, you’d still expect them to put one of those chances away.
“It wasn’t one of our better performances at all."
