And caretaker boss Chris Hughton has urged his Newcastle side to repay the fans' loyalty by producing a good result at Selhurst Park.
Hughton: "The players know the situation, we MUST keep up the good results for the sake of our supporters, who have backed us all of the way.
"It's a wonderful crowd and one we most definitely don't want to take for granted.
"What we do know is we have got to give them something to turn up in their thousands for."
