We hear Tim Krul and Tamas Kadar are on standby for Newcastle United's FA Cup tie at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, which says a lot about the respect - or lack of it - Hughton is showing for the competition and the 4,000 travelling Toon fans.
The FA Cup is the highlight of Newcastle United's history! You don't throw away the chance of glory like Hughton did with the League Cup.
We are a club built on a cup tradition.
Chris Hughton: "I'll make changes.
"We're not in a position to make massive changes, and what we're also mindful of is that it's a great cup competition.
"It's a game we'd like to win, and we've got to make sure we've got the right balance to do that.
"We're mindful the fans will be travelling a long way, as we are with every game.
"I've got to be mindful of the squad we've got – I'm not able to many so many changes because of how tight the squad is.
"But if I look in particular at Tamas Kadar and Tim Krul, they're players who have very much been part of the squad since day one of pre-season, and I think games like this are an opportunity for them."
