Habib Beye sustained an injury during heated scenes at Huddersfield in midweek – as the FA launch an investigation into the incident.
Beye was in the thick of things as a 20-man brawl broke out before half-time at the Galpharm Stadium, apparently sparked by some verbal jousting between the defender and Huddersfield’s Andy Butler.
Police intervened as the players continued to clash down the tunnel and there was further trouble at the end of the game when Gateshead-born striker Lee Novak confronted Fabricio Coloccini.
Chris Hughton: “It has been forgotten and we have moved on from it.
“We have got on with our training and got on with preparing for the game against Leyton Orient and the rest of pre-season, too.
“We’re still plugging away and working hard and I’ve been delighted with the way that the lads have responded over the last few weeks. We’ve not had too many problems with injuries and that is true for Saturday.
“There’s no problem with Habib, he will play at Leyton Orient.”
