Chris Hughton: “He’s got to keep his chin up. You have to make changes in the game and I looked at Andy Carroll and Marlon.
“There was a period when I was about to make a change and that could have been either of them.
“Because of Andy’s prowess in the air, I made a decision to take off Marlon.
"But he’s a valued member here and we brought him in for a reason.
“We haven’t brought him in for a few weeks, we’ve brought him in for a long period. I expect him to be better and stronger for it.”
