"Newcastle have always been criticised for having a bad back four so it was a no-win situation. At times the criticism was fair and I could deal with it when I made mistakes.
"But sometimes it was somebody else's fault and they still pointed the finger at me. You get used to it."
But ... let's not forget ... Wigan are second from bottom in the Premiership with only eight points from 14 games and goal difference of -15.
Now THAT is good defending, don't you think?
