On Saturday, Newcastle lost again and put in an abysmal performance to go with their fifth Premier League loss of the season.
After the game, Christian Atsu faced the media and summed up the atmosphere in the Magpies dressing room, however, the fans were having none of it as they tore into the Ghanaian winger.
Christian Atsu has never been the most effective winger in the world but on Saturday he took it to a new level when he put in what can only be described as a horror show against Leicester City.
The 26-year-old never looked like threatening the Foxes and when Matt Ritchie was subbed off after 65 minutes the fans were left wondering why Atsu wasn’t hooked instead of the Scottish winger.
Atsu has been far from prolific in his Newcastle career. The winger has only managed a pretty poor seven goals and five assists in his 69 appearances for The Magpies and they wouldn’t be too many fans who would be bothered if he was to be sold in the coming January window.
On his day, Atsu is capable of tearing apart his opposing full-back but unfortunately, that day is never very often and he’ll have to drastically improve to win the fans over.
