PSV’s on loan midfielder Siem de Jong is set for another spell on the sidelines after suffering a groin tear.
The 27-year-old has barely featured for PSV since he joined them on loan from Newcastle United, but the former Ajax star had played a leading role in recent weeks.
After scoring the winner against Go Ahead Eagles, De Jong came off the bench to earn PSV a 1-1 draw at Ajax on Sunday. However, at the end of the game De Jong could be seen hobbling off the pitch and PSV have now confirmed that he has suffered a groin tear.
De Jong is now set for a 4-6 week recovery which means he will almost certainly miss the first game in the league after the winter break against Excelsior.
