Spurs boss Harry Redknapp offered Loic Remy to Newcastle last week, but Joe Kinnear knocked it out of court, saying the club had no interest in a player who turned them down last January "for more money".
At the time of this conflab, Pardew was on his Jollies.
And this weel Kinnear is on his.
Meanwhile Pardew says his main priority for this summer, and now therefore Kinnear's, is to land a top-class striker to support Papiss Cisse, and the manager has confirmed that Darren Bent and Loic Remy are among those under consideration.
He told the Northern Echo: "Both of those players are on our list. I make no bones about that.
"But they are under contract at other clubs.
"It's difficult, you have to be careful. It's nice for our fans to hear names, but I don't want to disrupt other clubs' preparations.
"We have a list of four or five strikers who will push Cisse, Shola [Ameobi], Adam Campbell and Yoan Gouffran because that will be important next season.
"We do need two strikers. Last year, I didn't think there was enough competition in that area for a Premier League team."
So let's see what Kinnear says about THAT when he gets back from playing with this bucket and spade.
