The Chronicle claims "Newcastle United's players are understood to be shocked by Facundo Ferreyra’s lack of progress since signing on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.
"The Chronicle understands that the Argentine striker has failed miserably to hit the heights at the club’s Benton base."
I'm sure many supporters remember Spanish international Marcelino (who often appears on Spanish TV as a pundit) who spent five years at the club pretending he was injured!
Marcelino
How can any player be sidelined for SIX MONTHS with a broken finger (Marcelino was)?
Shola Ameobi appeared back in the first team four days after breaking his cheekbone!
But Marcelino had more medical problems than you could find in a medical dictionary.
Ferreyra is yet to deliver while fellow new boys Ayoze Perez and Manu Riviere are also yet to impress the Magpies supporters.
Indeed the last time a recognised striker scored for the Magpies was back in May against Cardiff City when departed forward Loic Remy found the net.
Ferreyra was even left out of the club’s reserve team 2-1 win over Wolves on Monday night as the Magpies try to prise some type of response out of him.
The signing of the striker is not believed to be Pardew’s choice and was a recommendation of skipper Fabricio Coloccini that was sanctioned by the board in the summer.
Facundo Ferreyra
He is yet to even appear on the first team bench in the Premier League with Mehdi Abeid and Gabriel Obertan getting the nod ahead of him.
