Some questioned Pardew for signing a player with a horror injury record, and Marveaux feared his campaign was over after undergoing hip and groin operations last year.
But the winger - who didn't make his full Premier League debut until November (five months after signing for the club) – is making steady progress in his rehabilitation.
Pardew insists the 25-year-old, signed from Rennes last summer, could rejoin training next month.
But the player could have other ideas.
Sylvain Marveaux: “I’m not thinking of playing again yet – I want to do it step by step.
“I’m working to train again.
"I don’t know if I will play, because I won’t train for two more months, but if I can help, I will.
“It’s getting better now. The worst – surgery and everything – is behind me, and I just want to be on the pitch.”
Marveaux – who signed a five-year deal when he joined United – missed most of last season for Rennes with a groin problem.
