The 19-year-old has struggled with injuries of late, and apparently that was the reason why Liverpool were cagey about trying to sign him.
Rumours from Anfield suggest they will renew their interest in January if he impresses - and stays injury free - this season.
He played the full 90 minutes of the Magpies' 4-1 win over Northampton Town in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.
While the teenage winger has expressed that he wants play more regularly, he insists that he is willing to be patient.
"It's still a dream for me to playing for Newcastle," Aarons told The Chronicle.
"I haven't played that many games. I have only been around the first team for around a year and have not played as much as I would have liked due to injury."
Aarons is yet to start a Premier League game.
