Mathieu Debuchy's long-awaited move to Arsenal has been completed.
A £10m fee, plus bonuses depending on appearances, has been agreed and the 28-year-old right-back will be paraded to the media at the start of next week.
Former Gunners star Lee Dixon told the TV audience that Debuchy has in truth been all but an Arsenal player for the past two weeks.
No-one can doubt Debuchy is a decent player, but he is full-back after all, and I don't think there will be many tears on Tyneside.
It's not as though we will be missing a cultured midfield player like Yohan Cabaye or class striker like Loic Remy.
Debuchy is a grafter, and deserves credit for that, but come on ... full-back?
