Keane was in no mood to give any sympathy to United’s caretaker manager Chris Hughton for doing the job without any long-term assurances.
Roy Keane: “I have no sympathy for him (Chris Hughton) after this. I cannot comment on other clubs, but when you talk about the long term I bet Big Sam thought he had the long term there and he did not get it.
“Chris will probably end up being there the longest of them all. He should just enjoy it. He has focused on the job, they have started well, and they have a great chance.
“They have good, strong players, They have the momentum going already. It is massive in football.
“Every manager would like some experience in their squad, we have bits but not the 600s or even the 300s. (Kevin) Nolan, (Nicky) Butt, they have all played that sort of number of games.”
