In recent seasons St James' Park has not been a fortress, and Keegan knows the good work done at Old Trafford on Sunday will only matter as long as the Toon beat Bolton on Saturday.
There is a saying in tennis when a player "breaks serve" ... "you have only broken serve when you hold your own serve next game" ... and that applies in general terms on Saturday.
Keegan's side defied the odds to take a point from Manchester United, but they are favourites themselves on Saturday, and they must prove the bookies right.
Keegan Knows Tennis Rules Apply!
Keegan: "The Man Utd draw gives us a platform to build on.
"If we get performances like that with that commitment, we will beat most teams at home.
"We must not get carried away because it's only one game, but it was a terrific performance and the challenge is now can we go and play at home like that.
"If we can, nobody will beat us much at St James' Park.
"There were a huge number of positives to come from the game, not least the result, and I have got to say we are very confident going into Bolton."
