Keegan’s Entertainers from 1992 to 1997 were famed for their thrilling, attacking football, which saw them climb from Premier League newcomers to consecutive second place finishers in 1996 and 1997.
Entertainers already signed up include legendary goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek, John Beresford, Robert Lee, Paul Bracewell, Lee Clark and Liam O’Brien.
Liverpool stars confirmed for the rematch on Sunday, October 9, include veteran striker Ian Rush, winger Jason McAteer and centre-back Mark Wright.
Funds from the gate receipts and a black-tie reunion dinner, set to be held the night before the game, will go to a series of charities, including the NSPCC, the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF), the Alan Shearer Centre, Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and NE Children’s Charity Pathways.
