Keegan To Get Big Money Backing?
The deadline expires today on the Pinnacle Group's bid to buy Saints and the takeover must go ahead or the clubcould go out of business.
But if the consortium are successful then Keegan - or whoever is the new manager - will have a colossal fortune at his disposal.
While Matthew Le Tissier is the public face of the potential takeover, Southampton businessman Tony Lynam is the key figure in the buy-out.
Lynam is acting for one hugely wealthy and so far anonymous investor who has hundreds of millions to spend on the club.
Lynam said: "I was asked originally to act for a group of four wealthy businessmen but when the time came for cheques to be put in it came down to one man.
"Our one client has substantial wealth - several hundred million.
"Matt will play a pivotal role at the club. He and I became involved after I had a coffee with him when his passion for the club was so obvious. Until then I had no interest in any exclusivity agreement."
