Keegan returned to St James' Park when approached by Sir John Hall back in 1992, and he said at the time: "I had not thought about management, it is too stressful, but Newcastle are the only club I would consider".
He was in charge from 1992-97, and was dubbed "The Messiah" by the Toon Army.
Kevin Keegan: "I really don't know, you're asking a lot of questions I can't really answer.
"I'm not ruling myself out or in or anything.
"It's a club I love, that's what I am prepared to say, everyone knows that, and it's a club I've managed before."
Inside Sport interview: "I don't think it will happen.
"I think my life has gone in a different direction.
"You never know, I mean I do get offers to go back into football, but I made a decision that I would come and do something different with my life."
