Keeping Everyone Happy
Talking to The Journal, Graeme Souness says the signing of Michael Owen has made Newcastle United a team to be feared. And, although the manager cannot wait for the return of his three injured midfield players, he claims Lee Clark is still in with a shout for first-team action.
He said: "I was very pleased with the first-half. We had three or four one-on-ones which we hadn't had prior to Michael arriving. He is three games away from sharpness but we have not had people running away from back fours and getting one-on-ones.
"We have to keep the ball better for Michael. Michael relies on clever passing and the players to come back - Kieron Dyer, Emre and Nobby Solano - can spot a cute pass.
"Lee Clark and Charles N'Zogbia have both made a strong case for playing regularly and hopefully next week we will have to make decisions on who to leave out."
