Kinnear has revealed a planned meeting with Ashley to discuss his future, scheduled for after Saturday's game at Chelsea, has been postponed due to - allegedly - issues with the attempted sale of the club.
Yet we wonder if Ashley is, once again, side-stepping the issue.
The club owner won't come to Newcastle, allegedly because he is "frightened for his safety", and all dealings with Kinnear are done over the phone ... when Ashley can be arsed to pick it up!
Shay Given had a swipe at Ashley this week. When asked if the current situation would sway the Irish goalkeeper to leave the club, Shay replied "officially we haven't even been told the club is for sale!"
Dennis Wise is still going about his business of looking at players to sign, and poor Joe just seems to be the guy taking the flak ... although he is getting £100,000 pushed in his pocket each week to keep a smile on his face.

Kinnear: "Every time the club gets nearer to being sold a problem pops up, the credit crunch, or whatever else.
"When I walked in they said the club would be sold around about the Chelsea game.
"They keep saying we are getting close but obviously we have not seen any finances coming up from the American group interested. That is all they tell me."
