Despite outrage shown by the majority of Newcastle fans at the appointment, Kinnear believes he has plenty to offer Newcastle as he returns to the club as director of football.
The former Magpies manager confirmed the news yesterday, having signed a contract reported to be for three years.
Kinnear confirmed manager Alan Pardew is "aware of the situation", though the pair have yet to discuss their new working relationship.
Joe Kinnear: "I know I've got more knowledge than most people at Newcastle.
"I believe I'm a very good judge of players, a good tactician and I intend to make Newcastle far better than they are now.
"I can see a good player and know a good player and get the right players in for us to be successful. I have no other agenda.
"I'm hoping to meet Alan sometime tomorrow to go through the team itself and where it's glaringly clear we need to improve.
"That will be my job, to find and buy these players.
"The worst I would be looking at is finishing 10th."
WE TELL IT AS IT IS - NO BULLSHIT!
