The goalkeeper has not played since April after dislocating his shoulder in the derby against Sunderland and he subsequently required surgery.
But Krul has now confirmed he is fit and is hoping to feature when Newcastle take on Rangers on 6th August.
"It's great to be back in full training and I'm looking forward to the game," Krul is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.
Manager Alan Pardew had confirmed prior to Tuesday's friendly win over St Mirren that Krul had been doing well in his fitness tests.
"Tim's had a tough week," Pardew told the Hartlepool Mail. "He's come through that, and we'll have to see where he is. But I've got no worries about him at all."
