Kuffour free to join Toon

It appears that Samuel Kuffour is free to join Newcastle United if he wishes. Bayern Munich General Manager Uli Hoeness has stated that Kuffour will not be forced out of the club but can leave if he wants to with his contract due to expire in June.
Bayern have acknowledged a bid tabled by Newcastle but it remains to be seen whether negotiations will advance. Kuffour has indeed been linked with numerous clubs in recent weeks and it would appear that the Ghanaian international has the opportunity to choose his preferred destination with Bayern probably keen to receive a nominal fee in Januray rather than nothing in the summer.
