Forster played for Celtic last season where he kept 24 clean sheets in 44 appearances.
But Alan Pardew criticised the level of play in the Scottish League and insisted his player would not be going back to Parkhead.
Forster, on the other hand, wants to know the state of play at St James' Park for next season.
If he is first choice he is happy to stay, but he would not turn down a move to Celtic should he be down the pecking order.
