Any truth in it?

Well Everton manager David Moyes has shown an interest in Taylor before (twice in fact), and the Toon youngster could create a lot of interest if other Premiership clubs realise he is on the market.

The Telegraph reports "Moyes is poised to make an £8 million bid for Newcastle United centre-back Steven Taylor", and there could be some truth in it.

Of all the players at Newcastle, Taylor is the Geordie boy who dreams of being the future skipper of the club. His heart bleeds black and white.

But he has also said he is sick to the back teeth of the way Mike Ashley is taking the club on the Road To Hell!

Taylor, like so many other players on the finge of the England squad, could be looking at the World Cup in the summer ... and Championship football is NOT going to help his cause.

Moyes, who is still determined to hang on to Lescott if at all possible, has saw his attempts to sign Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos fall through earlier in the summer.

The Everton manager turned down a written transfer request from Lescott after also snubbing two bids from City, the last of which was in the region of £18 million.

Meanwhile, David O’Leary will not be the next permanent Newcastle manager after failing to agree a deal with the club’s owner Mike Ashley.
