Ki Sung-yueng has revealed how much is enjoying life in the North-East.
The South Korea skipper has helped Newcastle United to Premier League wins in recent weeks to help the Magpies pull away from danger in the top-flight.
However, while Ki is loving life in the first team at St James' Park, he is also settled back in the area.
He told the Chronicle: "It is a bit colder but I am used to it as I was at Celtic and Sunderland!
"This life in the North-East is good though.
"I got used to it very quickly.
"I spent four years of my career in the north.
"So I am really comfortable with the lifestyle.
"Maybe the winter it can be difficult but I really enjoy living in Newcastle.
"The North-East is a beautiful place.
"But the fans are great to play in front of and I really like that aspect."
The Magpies have recovered from a tough start to the season but are now sitting in 14th place ahead of their Monday night visit to Burnley.
Ki said: "We knew this season would be about competing with the best teams.
"So we have to work hard to achieve our aims."
