We all know about Arsenal's "preliminary contact" with Remy which will see further talks over a possible £9 million move in the summer.

Remy is currently on-loan from Championship side QPR, but Liverpool are rumoured to be interested IF Luis Suarez moves on in the summer after the World Cup.

United attempted to instigate a deal for Remy ahead of January's transfer deadline, although it is thought the 27-year-old wants to wait until the end of the current campaign to assess his options.

Edinson Cavani believes that Liverpool star Luis Suarez has taken himself to a new level this term, and a good World Cup would have him the hottest property on the planet.

Last summer, on the back of a lengthy ban and interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal, Suarez had demanded a move - but Liverpool stood firm and Suarez has since produced a supreme campaign.

Paris Saint Germain ace Cavani (his strike partner with Uruguay) admits that Suarez is in a great mood, and said: "When I speak with him now it sounds like a different man to that of last season.

"You can hear it in his voice how happy he is compared to last season.

"He has always loved Liverpool, but things have not always gone well for him in England,.

"He wants to be at a team which matches his ambition, where he could play Champions League, and where he can compete for major trophies."

Liverpool's need to qualify for the Champions League has never been more important.
