London Media Hammer Newcastle ... Again!

The News Of The World have tried (and at times succeeded) in ripping the club apart, and now the Sunday Express have their claws in the club.
They published this article this morning, without a single quote from Michael Owen or anyone else ... although they reckon they know his mates:
Sunday Express:
"Michael Owen is willing to take a pay cut to secure a move from Newcastle during the January transfer window.
"The 28-year-old striker has increasingly become disillusioned with life on Tyneside since Kevin Keegan's departure as manager and the fact that no new buyer has come along to succeed owner Mike Ashley.
"He feels that interim manager Joe Kinnear has been holding him back after recovering from a groin problem.
"Now he has told his advisors that there's no way he will sign the one year extension which has been offered while the club remains in limbo.
"He doesn't even want to wait until the summer to exit St. James' Park when his contract comes to an end. He would prefer to leave in January meaning that Newcastle would have to accept a knock down fee for the striker.
"And to increase his chances of getting away from Tyneside he has let it be known that he is prepared to take a reduction on his £110,000 a week Newcastle salary."
