McClaren is already under pressure due to a disastrous start to the new Premier League season, and the very fact NOBODY wanted him in the first place!
For Mills, McClaren has to watch the situation very carefully and he said on the BBC's Final Score: "I think the first four fixtures were very, very difficult.
"You don't win in the first four and you're playing okay, it's acceptable.
"Then you lose badly to West Ham, then you lose to Watford, and now you've got Chelsea and Manchester City.
"Suddenly if you haven't won for eight games, the pressure is on and you're bottom of the table – the owner, the chairman, the fans will slowly start to turn on you and we've seen it happen before.
"If they turn on you at Newcastle, forget it.
"It's exactly what happened to Alan Pardew."
Next up for Newcastle however is a break from Premier League action with a League Cup tie against Championship side Sheffield Wednesday at St. James' Park on wednesday.
