The former Newcastle winger, Lovenkrands, believes Ferguson is certainly Premiership quality, despite being cast into the wilderness.
Peter's message to Pardew
Peter Lovenkrands (talking to the Chronicle): "It’s hard to say he’s a young talent anymore because he’s getting older now but he still has so much potential and he’s a great wee player.
"I like him as a left-back because defensively he can be like a rash around you, he’s quick and while he’s not the biggest player he is good at using his body well.
"He’s also got great feet so when he breaks forward from a left-back position it surprises a lot of teams.
"I just felt sorry for him at Birmingham because he didn’t get the chance and it was a shame for him because he didn’t show what he could really do.
"I’m glad he’s done well for Northern Ireland because it bodes well for him.
"If he is doing that at international level in the Euro qualifiers he can do it in the Premier League too.
"It’s as simple as that and it’s not going well for Pardew down the left, so why not give him the chance?"
