Peter Lovenkrands: “We had a strong dressing room, fantastic players, at Newcastle. We had so much good camaraderie in the team, and that helps.
“When you’re willing to do the job and work hard it’s all going to come together and it did for us that season.
“We did fantastic. After coming down we bounced straight back up but that’s probably because we had such a good dressing room.
“I scored 13 goals in the Championship and I only played home games. I wasn’t allowed to play away apparently! And I still got 13 goals. Hopefully I can play a few more games here and score a few more.
“I think it was the tactics that Chris wanted to play in the Championship with Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll instead of two strikers. We only played that way at home.
“Birmingham a club in trouble? No, not at all.
“It’s a great big club, a fantastic club.
"I can’t see why we can be in trouble in any way. I don’t really know too much of what’s happening outside of the football.
“None of that bothered me. But that’s not what I am here for. I am here to play football and do the business.
“I can’t see why we shouldn’t be able to push for promotion. We did last year.
“We are going to be able to try and do that again. We’ve got a lot of the players from last year and hopefully we can bring in some new ones, and it all comes together.
“We’ve got a good team – I’ve seen what they can do from last year – we’ve got some good players.
“The club is rebuilding and I’m hopefully here to help us get back where we should be – in the Premier League.
“The club looks good to progress and that’s what we’re here to do. We’re not just here to stay where we are. We’re here to try and get back in the Premier League.
“I feel it’s really important that you have a good dressing room.
“Everybody has to get on well with each other, there has to be a good bond and you have to be willing to work for each other.
“As long as you’re willing to put in the shift for each other then the football will come."

Clark praised the spirit in the Blues camp last season and Lovenkrands believes Clark must continue to nurture that.
“You don’t want to come in somewhere people don’t get on with each other and are kind of annoyed coming into training,” he admitted.
“You want to come in with a smile, have a good laugh and do the hard work. That’s what it’s all about.
“From what I have seen, that’s what they have here now.”
