The Dane suffered an ankle injury during Wednesday night's 3-0 victory over Scunthorpe, in which he scored his 14th goal of the season, and could miss out at Ashton Gate.
Midfielder Alan Smith will also be absent once again as he continues his recovery from an ankle problem.
Striker Shola Ameobi (hamstring) has returned to full training but is short of match fitness while Joey Barton (foot) played 75 minutes for the reserves in midweek as he stepped up his comeback.
Defenders Mike Williamson (hand) and Steven Taylor (knee) remain on the sidelines.
