Ross Miller has received thousands of internet threats from Toon fans following Asamoah Gyan’s last-minute equaliser for the Mackems in January.
The 17-year-old appeared at Sunderland Youth Court yesterday, where he pleaded guilty to assault, entering the playing area and a public order offence.
He was given a 3-year football banning order.
Prosecutor Michael Rose said: “Ross approached the Newcastle goalkeeper, pushing him from behind.
“He fell down and stayed down for a little while, but made no complaint of assault himself.
“Ross returned to the stands, was seized by other supporters and delivered to the stewards.”
After a plea from Mr Miller, the terms of the ban were changed to allow his son to watch his local team, Spennymoor Town.
