With Davie Moyes pulling off back-to-back wins for Sunderland against Bournemouth and Hull City, the sack race spotlight has switched to Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace.
Despite Saturday’s narrow defeat at home to Manchester City a report in The Sun has claimed that Pardew will be axed if Palace lose at away to Swansea at the weekend.
The 55-year-old was given a heroes welcome when he took over at Selhurst Park in January 2015 and took the club to the final of last season’s FA Cup where they lost narrowly to Manchester United.
That run and reaching the top six in the Premier League at Christmas last year has been forgotten about with five defeats on the bounce sending the south London side crashing down the table.
Big money summer signings Christian Benteke and Andros Townsend have failed to have the desired impact with the recent run of results causing alarm in the boardroom.
The availability of fire-fighting specialist Sam Allerdyce is casting a shadow over all top flight bosses with the former England boss and Chris Coleman in contention for the job is Pardew is sacked.

This book is a collection of the 100 Greatest Newcastle United players of all time, as voted for by NewcastleUtd-Mad.co.uk readers and a panel of journalists who contribute to the website.
The players are in an order of five-per-chapter, counting down from 100 to Newcastle United's greatest ever player (as viewed by the author), but the whole point of the book is for You (the reader) to decide who goes where.
The list is not, by any means, definitive. As with all books of this nature, whether it be "Greatest Albums"; "Best Movies Of All Time"; or "Top 100 Pin-Ups Of The Year" . . . no two people have exactly the same opinion.
There will be controversy over who is on the list, and chances are, more controversy over who is not.
Here are the best of the best. I have painted the picture with each player's profile. Where they end up in the league of Nufc's Greatest is up to you.
Because You have the final word.
