The vehicle was torched last October while Carroll was staying with Kevin Nolan in Ponteland, Northumberland.
That was part of bail conditions after being charged with assaulting ex-girlfriend Laurie Henderson, an 18-year-old lingerie model.
Graffiti relating to the charge was daubed on a garage wall at Nolan's home.
Northumbria Police said they arrested a man at Newcastle Airport as he flew back into the country.
A spokesman said: "On Tuesday police arrested a 33-year-old man from the Whitley Bay area in connection with an arson that happened in Darras Road, Ponteland, on October 20, 2010."
He has been bailed until August.
