Former Newcastle United stars will turn out for a charity game on Sunday in memory of former team-mate Pavel Srnicek .
The Magpies will face a Felling team at Dunston UTS to raise funds for St Oswald’s Hospice.
Former Toon players such as Peter Beardsley, Darren Peacock, Keith Gillespie, Steve Howey and Steve Harper will all be involved.
The game will also be played in memory of former Felling player Chris Heron.
Speaking ahead of the game Peacock told the Chronicle: “It’s nice that we can roll back the years not only for Pav but also for Chris Heron.
“Pav’s loss was a terrible shock and he’s often thought of by all of us.
“The Toon Army are a great bunch of fans and players past and present are often held in high regard.
“Coming back to the region, for the talk-in and the match, I can’t wait, it’ll be a great occasion, for a great cause, in recognition of great people.”
The game kicks off at 1pm on Sunday but Peacock will stage a talk-in the night before at the Dunston club house.
Tickets for the event are available now priced at £8 for adults and £3.50 for under 16s and are available on the gate at Dunston.
