Marveaux played 45 minutes of a 1-1 Under-21 Premier League draw against Swansea City at sun-baked Whitley Park.
The forgotten midfielder – who spent last season on loan at French club Guingamp – had been out since July with a groin problem.
Marveaux came through the match unscathed.
Ivan Toney, signed from Northampton Town in the summer, opened the scoring in the 61st minute with a lovely lobbed finish from a Gael Bigirimana ball forward.
But Swansea levelled four minutes later from the penalty spot.
NEWCASTLE UNITED: Elliot, Sterry (Suddick, 73), Adu-Peprah (Gibson, 18), Bigirimana, Newberry, Cameron, Cobain, Hunter, Toney, Marveaux (Longstaff), Barlaser. Subs not used: Woolston, Pollock.
