Anderlecht have parted company with Besnik Hasi who managed both Chancel Mbemba and Aleksandar Mitrovic before their move to Tyneside.
The Belgian club are said to have three candidates in mind for the job, including Steve McClaren.
The Sun report that former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is also a contender, whilst former Anderlecht star and one-time Denmark manager Morten Olsen is said to be the third under consideration.
All three are out of work at the minute and so would be able to start immediately, with the added bonus of no compensation to pay either.
Steve McClaren has been a serial failure in recent years and proved to be disastrous at Newcastle United, though the fact he has shown a willingness to manage on the continent could stand in his favour, plus of course the Dutch title win with FC Twente.
