Crystal Palace and Premier League rivals West Ham United are both being linked with a shock swoop for Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic today (Sunday).
He has pledged his future to Newcastle so the only way he would go to a club that could end up in the Championship next season is if Newcastle sell him!
The Sunday Express is reporting that the two London rivals are both keen to boost their firepower in January, with the 22-year-old Serbian reportedly being considered as an option as he continues to struggle to command a regular place on Tyneside.
Mitrovic, who signed for Newcastle 18 months ago from Anderlecht, has scored five goals for the Championship leaders so far this campaign, but has often found himself behind the Magpies' top scorer, former Palace striker Dwight Gayle.
West Ham are said to be in the market for another striker, and with Connor Wickham likely to be out for the rest of the season and Loic Remy still not yet fit to feature, Palace could also be tempted to go into the market for another forward in January, with only Christian Benteke and Fraizer Campbell as their recognised strikers fit and available at present.
