Moore News A Bit Premature

Glenn Roeder is confident the Oz defender will be fit to face Sheffield United after he looked doubtful for the trip to Bramall Lane after suffering a groin injury in the defeat by Manchester City.

Moore's contract is up in the summer, and it is doubtful he will be offered a new deal. That injury seemed to rule him out for the rest of the season, but apparently miracles happen in the Toon medical room these days.

Roeder: "By getting Craig off the field when we did, we prevented any serious damage to his groin.

"He will be back training by Thursday and we feel he has a genuine chance of playing against Sheffield United."
