Huddersfield head coach Jan Siewert has admitted that his side cannot afford to lose Saturday's game against Newcastle United - labelling it a 'cup final.'
Personally I think Huddersfield have to WIN or slip through the relegation trap-door.
Is it more important to them, than us? I seriously think it is.
The Terriers lie 14 points off safety, haven't won in 13 games, and with just 12 games remaining, Siewert is well aware of the task that lies before him.
They are down and out, and only a win against Newcastle can give them a "cat in hell's chance" of beating the drop.
The former Borussia Dortmund II head coach concedes that his side must pick up points against Newcastle.
"The Newcastle United game is like a cup final for us.
“We need that winning mentality back. We need to start this week. This week is massive for us. We have to pick up points this week.”
United are playing at home for the first time since the 2-1 win over Manchester City earlier this month, and are also buoyed by the return of Mo Diame , and Ki, and the arrival of Miguel Almiron.
Spirits in the camp are high.
Benitez has choices to make throughout his starting eleven with several players vying for the start in the middle of the park, centre-back and at left-wing-back.
Siewert is aware of the threat United pose, and admits he needs to find a 'solution' to the potent wing-backs.
"We are focused on playing our style against Newcastle.
“Newcastle are physically a very strong team with a tall target player.
“The wing backs play high up the pitch, which is what we have to deal with.
“We also have to find solutions.”
