England strikers Michael Owen and Andrew Johnson enjoyed mixed fortunes as Newcastle struck late to see off Everton.
Both men came off the bench to score in a 3-2 win for the Magpies at St James' Park, but while Owen will join up with Steve McClaren's squad on Tuesday ahead of the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia, Johnson will undergo surgery on a fresh ankle problem on Monday.
David Moyes: "He is having an ankle operation on Monday. He will be out for probably three to four weeks.

"We just know he has got a problem and Andy wants it sorted, so we have to get that done."
